Immersive Experience Production

Once, I was a Senior Producer for a third-party game and web development studio in San Francisco. This work was not philanthropic, though I did hope to generate a positive impact by creating games. A part of my story is how I grew up in struggle and at 16 I emancipated myself. Video games were once a source of strength for me. I first felt volition over my life by playing out characters in grand worlds, learning how to home and craft skills that led to later success in those worlds. This helped to empower me to create parity in my real life. I pursued education with vigor and never looked back. When I entered the game industry I hoped to create experiences that helped other’s find control and empowerment in their lives. While in the industry, I came to learn how much harm games inflict by capturing our most prized possession, our attention. I moved away from game production, but I haven’t moved away from the lessons I learned. Nor do I regret the time I spent learning how to construct immersive and highly engaging experiences. The following are some of the work I produced at Present Creative.

Retro-Arcade Gambling Machines

As a part of a multi-part series of games released to casino floors in Las Vegas.
These games presented a unique challenge. We aimed to create a nostalgic recreation of their 80’s arcade counterparts, while being optimized to remove long-forgotten rendering and performance issues due to the technological limitations of the time. All while seamlessly integrating monetary transactions into the gameplay.

Types of Games I Produced
At Present Creative I released a wide array of game types. As a studio we focused on virtual slot machines and mobile games, but in my time at Present Creative I also worked with motion capture and released several VR games on the Vive system. Additionally I worked with several triple-A game studios like Activision, Disney Interactive, and EA integrating with their pipelines and participating in massive production projects for console and web games.

My Role
As a producer I managed all parts of the production process, from contract negotiation and cost modeling, to game design, through development, and unto the release process.
